How to create a search filter and apply it to a sales channel with modifiers. (Step-by-step Guide)

Searches are extremely important when it comes to creating product lists. You need product lists to push items to your storefront. Price/Quantity modifiers are also important because it will manually let you adjust the price or quantity of certain products/product lists. I am going to show you a step-by-step guide to creating searches, saving product lists, adding price/quantity modifiers, and how to push these product lists to your storefront.

First off, I am going to show you how to create a search. Once you login to your ChannelApe account, on the left hand side of the screen you will see “Search”. Click on that. Once you do so, it’s going to bring you to the main search page: (pictured below)

On this page, you can create a product search either by Title, SKU, Category, Price, Quantity, Vendor, UPC, Tags, etc.

Step 2

As an example, I’m going to create a product list of “All Products“. In order to do so, I am going to place “0.01” where it says “Retail Price” (minimum). This is going to pull all products “over a penny”, which is essentially, all products. So, once I place 0.01 in the filter, it will bring up a list of products: (pictured below)

Step 4

As you can see, this is a list of all products “over a penny”. At the top (circled in red), it says “Save as new”. Click on that and label this list “All Products”. It will look like this:

Step 5

Click “Save” (circled in red) and that will successfully create/save the list of products.

Next, I am going to show you how to create a price/quantity modifier. Both of which are done very similarly.

On the left hand side of the screen click on “App Integrations” -> “Installed” -> “Shopify/Amazon Store”. It will bring you to this page: (pictured below)

dundundun

This is one of the main screens you will be using. This screen is where you are going to create price/quantity modifiers and apply your product lists to filters in order to push the products to your storefront. I have circled in red (pictured above) “Add New” under “Modifiers”. Click on that and it will bring you to this page: (pictured below)

modifier

This is where you will create your price/quantity modifier. As an example, I am going to create a price modifier for 15% off. To do so, under “Target” I’m going to select the drop down menu and choose “Price”. Under “Modifier” I’m going to select the drop down menu and choose “Percent Off”, and where it says “Adjust by” I am going to put “15” in the blank. I am then going to put “15% Off” under “Modifier Name” and the same under “Description”. (Note: You can label this anything you’d like and put the description as whatever you’d like). It will look like this: (pictured below)

Click “Save” and the price modifier will then be created.

Here is how to do a quantity modifier. As an example, I’m going to make a quantity modifier set equal to 0. So, same scenario as the price modifier. Click on “Add New” under “Modifiers” and it will bring you back to the picture above. Where it says “Target” I’m going to select the drop down menu and choose “Quantity”, where it says “Modifier” I’m going to select the drop down menu and choose “Set equal to” and where it says “Adjust by” I am going to put “0” in the blank. I am then going to put “Qty=0” under “Modifier Name” and the same under “Description” (Note: You can label this anything you’d like and put the description as whatever you’d like). It will look like this: (pictured below)

quantity modifier

Click “Save” and the price modifier will then be created.

So, I have shown you how to create/save a product list, as well as, create/save a price/quantity modifier. I am now going to show you how to apply these lists/modifiers, so that all of these changes will take place on your storefront.

On the same page as your “Modifiers”, you will see “Synced/Push Search Filters”. It looks like this: (pictured below)

syncsearch

This is where you are going to apply your saved product lists, as well as, your price/quantity modifiers. Simply click “Add New” and it will bring you to this screen: (pictured below)

filter

I have highlighted “Filter” and “Modifier” for you. Where it says “Filter” — this is where all of your product lists will go. I created, in the example earlier on, “All Products”. I am going to place “All Products” under “Filter”, so that all of the products are pushed to the storefront. Note: If you leave this filter blank, nothing will be pushed to your storefront. It is crucial that you create a list and place it in this filter. This will ensure that all products appear on your storefront.

For example, I am going to use the “All Products” list I have created, along with the price and quantity modifiers. You cannot place two price modifiers under one filter, but you may place both a quantity and price modifier under one filter. It will look like this: (see image below)

moddie

Click “Add” and that will successfully apply “All Products to be pushed to your storefront with all products being 15% off and having a quantity of 0.”

To successfully sync these filters, at the top right of the screen you will see “Sync Inventory”. Click on that & this will issue a product sync.
